Climbing the Stairway to Bedroom

The boys now like to climb the stairs themselves on their way to bed. We like it too because it wears them out a little bit more in advance of sleepy time...

Following in Daddy's Footsteps

Leave a shoe or two out and they'll try to put them on!

The Daily Mess

No, this isn't the scene of some accident. This is the daily mess that we have to clear up every evening before the boys go to bed. Can anyone tell me what age they learn to put things back for themselves?

Team Sheepskin

Clair has kept a sheepskin coat that her Mum and Dad bought for her when she was a young girl. Cue fun photos with the boys!

Out for a walk with Charlie

I think we've reached a transition point. Theo and Charlie are getting more and more unhappy just sitting in their buggy now. During a shopping trip today, Charlie just wouldn't stop crying so, Clair took him out of the buggy and walked with him for a bit. I took some video (see below) whilst pushing Theo.

All well and good when there are the two of us, but we've yet to figure out what to do when Clair goes out on her own. A pair of reins like this maybe? All we need is a sled and we could have our own team of huskies... :-)

A Foodie Valentines Day!

We went for a trip up to Borough Market today. A foodie haven near London Bridge. It's an amazing place with stalls full of the most varied and gorgeous food.

Now, I have to say though, it's not the most child friendly of places - especially as we got nearer to lunch time and the crowds got thicker. Navigating a double buggy across cobbled pavements whilst being surrounded on all sides by people wasn't particularly pleasant and the boys soon let us know that they weren't happy. I even started to undertake a forward guard action - although stopped short of crying out 'Mind your backs please!'

Anyway, by the time we got to 11:15, the boys had had enough and we gave up and went for lunch. Challenge #2. finding somewhere for lunch that serves 'lunch' before midday! We ended up in Cafe Nero and fed the boys a couple of sandwiches, a muffin and some fruit.

By the time we left there, the crowds in the market were absolutely heaving but, true to form, the boys had a little nap in the buggy and we wandered round a few more stalls before setting off home.

Early Waker, Trouble Maker...

For the last few nights, Theo's got himself in the habit of waking at 5am or 6am with no inclination of going back to sleep. It's wearing us down a bit and is forcing us to go to bed earlier and earlier each night!

This week, we've been in bed at 8:30pm, 9pm, 9:30pm, 10pm and the latest was last night at 11:30pm (but we'd been out so that didn't count).

Pleeeeaasee Theo, get back into your normal routine soon!

Nursery Carnage

We managed to take a snap of the playroom at the boy's nursery just before the cleaners arrived. The picture doesn't really do it justice but you can see that the boys had an ice cream cone for pudding....

A Helping Hand from Grandma

With Clair off at a Spa for a couple of days (her first nights away without the boys!), I'm left home alone acting as Mr Mum. One of the boys' Grandmas came over yesterday to give me a helping hand (bathing and putting two tired boys down for sleepy time on your own is no fun!)

Twin Spin

Our washing machine almost seems to be on constantly all week. We were slightly surprised when the boys showed such an interest in the spin cycle!

Dressing down in your dressing gown....

What do you think of the boys' fancy new dressing gowns?

Whilst Charlie amused himself with a balloon, Theo wanted to tell all his mates about it on the phone...

Following the bucketing of snow we've received over the last 24 hours and with a big bit of help from Grampy, the boys have built their first snowman!

Potatoes for eyes, a carrot for a nose, a spare Megablox piece for a mouth and a female touch on the buttons!

Fancy a Beer?

Whilst purchasing some beer for Clair's birthday party at the weekend, we had to drag the boys away from the 'Stella' aisle!
