Jon and Clair have twin boys called Theo and Charlie! This is their blog from their first scan picture to their latest tantrum...

Gym Babies
Clair went to see our local gym the other day. They have a creche there which will give Clair a chance to have some quiet time during the day. Here's a spy shot of the boys having some fun....

First Birthday Fever!
We've stayed in touch with all the people we met at the Ante Natal classes we attended before the boys were born.
Which now means we have a whole host of first birthday parties to attend and celebrate over the coming few weeks!

Water Babies Term 2 Finished!
We've just finished the second term of swimming! Highlights from this term included:
Learning to fall into the water without the 'Ready, Go!' prompt
Longer swims underwater
Learning to swim up and hold on to the edge of the pool
The 'wibble wobble, jelly on a plate' song (don't ask)
Missing 3 weeks whilst we sunned ourselves in Miami!
Term 3 starts in a week or two - which reminds me, I must get the cheque book out (again....)

Supermarket Twins
One of the challenges we face with twins is the trip to the supermarket. Virtually impossible with just the one of you, still very challenging with the two of us.
Up until now, we've mainly avoided the issue by doing the weekly shop online, however, over the weekend we took a trip to our local shop and found double shopping trolleys! The boys absolutely loved it in there - especially enjoying the fact that everything on the shelves was within easy grasp from their elevated position....

Who Walks First?
OK, competition time on Team Burchell. Please vote for which of the boys you think is going to be walking first! To help out, here's a little look at the form of each..
Theo was first of the two to stand and has recently started to get a little cocky supporting himself with just the one hand. He's also lasted as long as five seconds or so without holding on at all. He was also the first to crawl.
Charlie however, has always been second to do everything, however, he does seem a lot more stable on his feet when leaning against things and seems to spend more time holding on with just one hand than Theo does.
So, the poll is over on the right hand side and will stay open until one of them takes at least one full step without assistance. Enjoy!

SMA No More....
We've mixed our last bottle of SMA formula milk, packed away the steriliser and are starting to move the boys onto beakers rather than the Avent bottles we've used for the last (almost) 12 months.
At the peak of their milk consumption, we were getting through three of these tubs PER WEEK! Now, this one has lasted at least two weeks on it's own.
Our babies are losing a little piece of their babiness each and every day... :-(

Cauliflower and Broccoli
The boys love a few florets of Cauliflower and Broccoli with their dinner. However, they don't seem to know when to stop shoving them in their mouths and start swallowing! Here's some video....
The Toothy Peg League Table... Charlie 6 - Theo 6
It's level scores on the tooth front now. Six each.

Tonsil Watch
Another night of sleep deprivation and grisly babies last night (I think we've totalled about 10 hours sleep in the last 4 nights!)
Luckily, Theo's temperature has dropped a bit and the antibiotics seem to be having the desired effect on both of them. They are still a bit off their food but have been a lot more chirpy today than yesterday. Fingers crossed for a calmer night tonight....

The 'Keep Parents Shopping' Play Area
Whilst we were in Miami, we discovered this fantastic play area in Aventura Mall for children of all ages to play in.
The cynic in me would say that that the idea behind this (and the Baby Carts mentioned here) was to keep the parents shopping longer. Anyway, here are some pics of the boys (and grown ups) having fun...

First Shoes!
We've bought the boys their first pair of shoes!
Of course, they've had shoes in the past but they were just for decoration. These are PROPER Clarks shoes! They even had their feet measured to ensure a correct fit (like we all remember from our youth).
Theo is a whole size bigger than Charlie (no surprise there). A result for us because, if it remains like that, Charlie will be getting hand-me-downs from his brother!
Pics to follow - once we can keep their feet still long enough....

Tonsil Twins
A visit to the doctor with a poorly Theo and a still croaking Charlie has confirmed that they both have Tonsilitis.
Early to bed tonight boys, after you've taken your medicine!

Wednesday Night Fever
Poor Theo has picked up the bug that upset Charlie so much on our last few days in Miami.
Since Wednesday afternoon he's had a high temperature and been really grisly (actually, they've both been moody these last two days but that's more than likely the jetlag).
Luckily, Charlie felt better after about 36 hours so hopefully Theo will be feeling a bit more chirpy this evening.

Holiday almost at an end.....
It looks like the laptop won't be working again whilst we're away so unlikely that we'll be able to update you with pictures from our Disney experience.
However, with the looming threat of Hurricane Ike, we're trying to see if we can get an earlier flight home. Last thing we want is to be stuck out here for a few extra days whilst hurricane winds batter us to pieces!

Back from Disney!
Well, after a few days away in Orlando giving the boys their first taste of the magical world of Disney, we're back in Miami for the remainder of our holiday.
Unfortunately, laptop issues are preventing us from uploading any pictures at the moment, but as soon as they're resolved, they'll be an avalanche of material posted!

Massage Mummy
To escape the gloomy overcast weather, we drove up the coast to West Palm Beach today - taking the A1A which hugs right along the Atlantic coast for a large portion of its length.
We needed a rest once we got there so Clair and the boys decided to have a massage in one of the shops. This chair was over $3,000! The massage chair that is, not the well travelled Maclaren twin pushchair Theo and Charlie are sitting in...

Hurricane Watch
With Hurricane Gustav on its way up through the Gulf of Mexico, we're turning our attention to Tropical Storm Hanna - currently in the Atlantic, but with a projected course approaching Florida towards the end of next week. This, and Gustav would explain the bad weather we've been having the last couple of days. Oh well, the boys don't give us a lot of opportunity to lay out in the sun anyway!
Now where's that tanning salon......
