Organised Raspberries

Theo has this strange habit of arranging his fruit. He'll move them from the bowl to the cup holder on his high chair, then back to his bowl again!

Is this the first signs of OCD at 16 months? :-)

Organised Raspberries

Loose Nappies and Late Night Drives...

Following Charlie's incidents on Friday, it's been Theo's turn this weekend.

He's had a bit of a tummy bug, which has resulted in some amazing nappy escapades however, that was just the start of it.

After tripping and hitting his head on the fireplace on Saturday morning, he was sick after lunch but seemed to settle down OK for a nap. Then about 4pm, the remainder of his lunch decided to make a return visit all over the carpet (how DO you remove that smell?). Suspecting concussion, we rushed him to A&E who (after the regulation 3 hour wait) gave him the all clear.

Then, after lunch on Sunday (and again, several multicoloured napppies later) he once again threw up. NHS Direct allayed our concussion fears, saying it was more than likely a result of the tummy bug. Phew!

Settling Theo down to sleep Sunday evening took an age. We even broke one of the rules that we've rarely broken before and took him out of the bedroom and downstairs - he just wouldn't calm down and it was upsetting Charlie. By about 10pm (and another messy nappy later) we'd exhausted all options and decided to do the one thing you hear about other parents doing but never thought you'd do yourself.

We put Theo in the car and went for a drive!

Loe and behold, within 10 minutes he was off to sleep and I returned home, carefully removed him from his car seat, slowly walked upstairs and laid him down to sleep.

11pm, and our evening could begin....

Alone at the Nursery

Poor Theo spent the morning on his own at the nursery last week. Even poorer Charlie spent most of the morning crying due to a massive bruise on his hand. We were quite worried so we took him to A&E who checked it out. Luckily, he was fine but was very grisly all day. We think he must have got the bruise from the regular thrashing around in the cot that babies sometimes do.

Anyway, rather than explaining what Theo got up to at nursery, here's a report kindly provided (and written so eloquently) by the nursery staff!

Scream if you wanna go faster!

Imagine the fun Theo and Charlie are going to have when they get older in Nanny and Grampy's hallway on their bikes!

Swimming - Term 3

After taking a break from swimming last term, we started back on level 3 this weekend.

Charlie absolutely loved it in the water - kicking and splashing virtually non-stop! Theo however, seemed to have lost it a bit and took a few mouthfuls during the underwater swims!

Even though it's only been 2 or 3 months since we last swam, the boys felt much more of a handful in the water...

Nursery - Day One

First full morning at the nursery complete!

The boys loved it and are settling in well.

Great Grandpa's Chair

Theo's Great Grandpa used to sit in this chair when he was a toddler. Someone should tell Theo how to sit in it properly!

Squeek Squeek Woof!

Round at Grandma and Grandpa's house, Theo took a fond affection towards an old toy dog on wheels (which by the look of it must contravene every British Standard for toys that's ever existed!)

We all used to wheel this around when we were young - hence it's rather haggard look. Fond memories though...

Nursery Introduction part 2

The boys spent the whole morning yesterday at the nursery, including a stay for lunch!

Charlie got on fantastically, ending up in a huge mess covered in flour! Meanwhile, Theo wasn't quite so happy at leaving Mummy and was quite upset most of the morning. He didn't even eat his lunch (very unlike Theo!). Poor sausage....

Peek a Boo!

Charlie is not particularly keen on lunchtime sleeping at the moment, so whilst Theo is snoring away upstairs, Charlie enjoys the run of the playroom to himself.

During one such recent lunchtime, Clair undertook a game of peek-a-boo with Charlie. Video below!

Letting them loose on the world!

We've decided to send the boys to a nursery for half a day a week! We thought it was a good idea to allow them to begin interacting with other toddlers, as well as giving Clair a break for part of the week.

They had their first 'introductory' session this morning and settled in perfectly with the other kids. Here's a picture of Theo doing some painting.

Next session is tomorrow - and they're staying for lunch!

Walker Charlie

This weekend seems to have been the tipping point for Charlie. He's now spends about as much time walking as he does crawling.

He's now able to take at least half a dozen steps.

Almost there boy....

Dad's Slippers

Yes, I admit it, I love a nice pair of slippers.

From the look of this video, it seems Theo does too! He just all of a sudden put my slippers on his feet and started walking in them!

Window Wind Up

We now understand what the rear window lock button is for in your car!

Whilst out the other day, we heard one of the rear windows going down. Theo had been exploring what that button did beside him!

A quick push to wind it back up, a push of the override button and the fun was over....

Loving or Biting?

You decide....

Loving or Biting?

...although not long after this, Charlie ended up in floods of tears with a massive bite mark on his cheek!

New Year's Eve in Brighton

We spent the day on New Year's Eve this year in Brighton. It was fun wandering through the lanes although suspiciously quieter than on previous years.

We stopped off for lunch at Browns which now takes our awards for best kids menu and best high chairs! Look at these funky little numbers...

I'll have the Foie Gras....

On a recent post Christmas shopping trip, we stopped off for lunch at Pizza Express (yes, again - but it's easy!). Here's the boys making their choices from the children's menu. Closely following by banging the menu on the table and throwing it on the floor...

I think I'll have the Foie Gras....

Gas Mask Charlie

Please excuse the mess in the playroom in the background - typical of the mess the boys manage to make by about 4pm!
