It's amazing how your views of things change when you're expecting twins. We've been looking at getting a new car over the last few weeks - something to replace the MG that went a few weeks ago. If we'd been looking at a car last year, our main priorities would have been performance, economy, body style that kind of thing.
Now, our primary concerns have been 'can we fit a double buggy in the boot?' and 'does it have isofix points on the back seats?' In fact, any test drive also involves a visit to the in-laws house to try the buggy in the boot!
One thing that has been decided though is the car seats. We've ordered two of these and two of these.
In the meantime, we'll have to remain a one car family (oh the horror!) until we can decide what car is most suitable.
Jon and Clair have twin boys called Theo and Charlie! This is their blog from their first scan picture to their latest tantrum...

Two Heads are Better Than One
...especially when you're having twins, obviously.
This is a picture we got the sonographer to print out for us at our last appointment. Both babies are head down at the moment and this is a picture of the tops of their heads. They're lying next to each other - how cute!
We think that might be fingers just above the one on the right.

More Scans than a Photocopier!
Yes, another week another scan. This time, they were measuring the size of the head and the size of the femur. All was perfectly OK. In fact, they were also able to give us an indication of their current weight. One of them was 2.8 lbs the other was 2.6 lbs!
Clair reckons that they grow about 1lb a week from now on. At that rate, she'll be giving birth to a couple of baby elephants in a few months...
We took a picture outside the hospital when we left. Clair's the one on the right...

Flat-Pack Rage Part 2
After struggling for half an hour to try and assemble cot no. 2, it seems that someone thought it would be funny to drill some of the holes about half an inch out. Hence, we have a completed nursery minus one cot.
A new cot is on the way. You'll have to wait until it's delivered and assembled before we post pics of the completed room.
The room does however, look fab! We love it....

One Cot Up, One To Go....
The nursery is decorated! After blood, sweat and tears, we've also finally managed to assemble one cot and the changer. Click here to see a slideshow of the 'fun' we had. Is there such a thing as 'flat-pack furniture rage'?

Twin B in 3D!
Some 3D pics from our scan this morning of Twin B. You'll notice with these and the other pictures of Twin A that there is a round shape in the lower right foreground of the image. This is actually the other baby's head (or the inside of it - yuk)! They're both lying head to head. This one is effectively staring at the back of the other one's head!
T minus 100 days and counting
If you take a glance over to the right on the home page, you will see that the counter has just drop below the 100 day mark!
Twins are unlikely to go to full term so in reality, we're probably actually counting down about 10 weeks left - that sounds like a scarily short amount of time! I'd better get back to the painting...

Decoration for the Nation (well, the twins actually)
Decorating the nursery has commenced! This last weekend was spent sanding, painting the ceiling and giving the walls a first coat.
We've kept things neutral. No pinks, no blues - but we are putting up a border. Anyone any idea what you stick these things up with??? :-)

Anyone got any spare room?
Despite being told that the pram was on an 8 week delivery, we got a call yesterday to say that it's arrived! A full one week from date of order. This is starting to feel all a bit real now.
Superstition dictates that the pram can't be within a five mile radius of the house (or something) hence it's going to need to be housed in a secure facility (aka the grandparents) for a few months.
On top of that the cots have also been delivered! Here's a link to a pic of them.

We were going to get two cotbeds, which would last until the twins were a lot older. However, that would've meant them learning to climb out of bed on their own, as there was no way we would have been able to get in the room!
In the meantime, until the nursery is decorated, the cots will have to live with the mice in the garage...

Twin B - The Movie
Want to see one of the twins in motion?
We went for a 3D scan today. It's still a bit too early to see them clearly, but we did get some video of them in plain old 2D form. Click on the play button to view.
The video is in two parts; this part is Twin B. At the end of each part, there's a bit where you should be able to hear their heartbeats. It's a bit quiet and you may need to turn up the sound on your PC.
We're going to go back for another try at the 3D scan in about 3 weeks. Watch this space!
