Swimming with Daddy

It was the beach yesterday. Today, we went to the pool. We even practiced a few swimstrokes from our weekly swimming lessons, including the 'get on Daddy's back and grip hold of those wrists for dear life' manouver as demonstrated by Charlie here.

Beach Bums

We took the boys down to the beach yesterday.

Sun Hats - Check!
Factor 50 sun cream - Check!
Buckets and Spades - Check!
Easy up tent (also factor 50) - Check!
One piece swimsuits (again, factor 50) - Check!

Blimey, that's Factor 150 with the cream, tent and swimsuits. They could probably sunbathe on the surface of the sun and still be OK!

...And we're off!

They boys have got their trunkies packed and we're on our way!

Normal blogging will resume as and when we're within wifi range... :-)

Mr Cool

The boys love the sunglasses that their cousins bought for them a few months ago.

The advantage now is that they actually put them on themselves and keep them on for more than 30 seconds. Hence, we can capture ice cold poses like the following from Theo. Mr Cool....

It's My Peg!

Theo and Charlie each have their own peg at the nursery. I just wished they had take a slightly nicer picture of each of them to go on the wall above it!

Ka ka....! *

* - That's Charlie's word for car.

We've been out looking for a new car this weekend. Our current Jeep, whilst very comfortable and more than big enough for our needs, is such a gas guzzler that we sometimes daren't hit the acelerator. It's also getting on a bit now and is going to start costing us big money to maintain. It's probably also worth less than our weekly shop!

So, it was off to the car dealership with us (including babies) for a test drive. The kind Mercedes man even let us load the demo car up with the car seats - now that's a proper test drive! We came away empty handed but one step nearer to understanding what we needed to replace the Jeep with.

Here's the boys enjoying the (incredibly roomy) back seats of an R Class Merc on the way out of the showroom:

Ka Ka!

...and here they are when we got back:

Ka Ka (snore)

Same Word, Different Sound

With each passing day, Theo and Charlie are learning to say more and more words. It's interesting to see though how they interpret the words we try and teach them differently. One example is the word 'Apple'.

Theo's interpretation is more along the lines of 'App' - with a bit of a raspberry at the end. Charlie however, kind of says 'Baba'.
