This is the kind of picture that the boys will fondly look back on when they get older....

I Can Hear You!

We were awoken at about 5:00 this morning by some strange noises coming from the boy's bedroom.

They weren't crying, but it sounded like they were 'goo'ing and 'gah'ing at each other across the cots! REALLY loudly! The cross cot chatter then decscended into absolute chaos as they both decided that they were actually hungry and needed feeding NOW!

100ml of milk and they were soon back to sleep (as were we).

Theo has also decided that he prefers to sleep on his front. This means we're constantly up and down during the night checking on him to make sure he isn't eating the sheet!

Hold on Tight!

In the last few days, Charlie has learnt to grip hold of things and bring them up to his mouth. Here's the evidence!

Sleepy Time Update

It's been a few weeks since the last sleep update.

I'm pleased to say that Theo is well in the routine of sleeping through the night. Between 10:30pm and 7pm, he rarely wakes (probably twice in the last few weeks) - although I've bound to have jinxed that now....

Charlie meanwhile, seems to have developed a 4:10am habit. He's recently been waking at this time almost every morning, demanding a little feed and then drifting back off to sleep. The only problem is that he then rarely takes his entire first feed of the day - then gets to the end of the day having not taking all his quota and the cycle continues.

However, last night was the first night for weeks that they both slept all the way through until 06:30.

Lovely......and long may it continue!

Weigh Hay!

We took the boys to be weighed at the clinic yesterday.

After queuing for about 15 minutes waiting for a car park space (grrr..), we eventually managed to park and thought we'd carry them in their car seats into the clinic. Lucky we did as the clinic was on the upper floor and there was NO way our buggy was going in the lift (double grrr..)

Anyway, we eventually got the guys weighed and we're pleased to say that Charlie is now 14lbs 4 oz and big boy Theo is 14lbs 12oz! That's over a stone each and over double their birth weight!

The books that they write their details down in have a graph to plot their growth and they're both growing almost on the average line. Marvellous.

We had to upload a picture of Charlie if we'd uploaded one of Theo. It's only fair!

C'mon boys, you'll get there one day.....

Theo - Heads Up!

Theo - Heads Up!, originally uploaded by jonburchell.

Theo loves to try and roll onto his tummy although he never quite makes it as he can't get his arm underneath properly.

He therefore tends to end up with his head twisted right round. However, if we put him on his tummy, he has just started being able to lift his head up!

Whingy Winge-Bags

We didn't get away so lightly over the weekend following the second bout of jabs on Friday.

Theo cried most of Saturday and was a bit sicky. Charlie, although didn't cry quite as much, threw up several times which meant we had a bit of a disturbed night on Saturday night.

The guys seemed to be over it by Sunday though...

It's Gonna Hurt......

12 week injections today! The boys had no reaction to the last batch four weeks ago - we'll see if we get off so lightly this time.

They were given the same injection they had last time plus a vaccination against Meningitis C

Happy New Year!

With two babies this year, we were hardly going to have a wild party on New Years Eve - and to be honest, the chances of us staying awake until midnight without dozing off to sleep seemed remote at best. However, we did make an effort.

Amongst the sterilised bottles, formula milk and cups of cocoa accompanying us to bed was a bottle of champagne!

A cheer at midnight, a gasp at the fireworks in London on the TV and a thank you to each other for such a fantastic year and we were merrily slipping away into the land of nod whilst Big Ben was still ticking round the first hour of 2008.

Here's a frightening thought. Next Year, the boys will be two.....
