Eat-it-all Theo and Sweet-tooth Charlie
We've been weaning the boys for three weeks now and they've been experiencing a wide range of (albeit seriously pureed!) different fruit and veg.
We've just started adding a bit of chicken stock to their veg in preparation for the next big step - meat!
Here's a run down of the foods that the boys have tasted in those 3 weeks:
Baby Rice, Carrot, Sweet Potato, Courgette, Green Bean, Butternut Squash, Cauliflower, Broccoli, Apple, Pear, Banana and Mango. We've also just started them on an oat cereal for breakfast.
Theo (no surprise) loves absolutely everything we can give him - in fact, he'd probably have a serious go at a bit of rib-eye if we gave him half a chance! Charlie on the other hand seems to very much prefer the sweeter tastes than that of the veg. We're starting to have to 'tempt' him with a bit of fruit puree before quickly shoving in a spoonful of veg whilst he's got his mouth open!

Toothy Peg Theo
Yes, it looks like we've got our first tooth! After a few weeks of Dentinox addiction, it seems Theo is the first to get a tooth breaking through - one of his front lower incisors is just starting to poke through the gum.

Sweet Potato
Today, Theo and Charlie have been sampling sweet potato. The other day it was pear (Charlie wasn't too impressed with that - video to follow!) and in upcoming days we have broccoli and cauliflower. Yum!
Charlie is taking to the solids a bit quicker than Theo, who seems to want to keep sticking his tongue out when we go anywhere near him with a spoon. Not ideal for getting stuff into his mouth rather than down his chin (as the photos will show).
One thing is common between them though - it wouldn't be an understatement to say that the change in diet is having a rather nasty effect in 'other areas'....

Would you like to super size your baby rice?
Yes, today marks the start of weaning!
Todays delicacy was baby rice. Only a teaspoonful each, but almost all of it came back out again!
This wouldn't be Team Burchell if we didn't capture it on film so here are a couple of the best (ie. messiest) pics. A load more are here.

Happy Half Birthday!
Yesterday, Theo and Charlie were exactly six months old! Happy 1/2 Birthday boys!
Neither of us can quite believe how fast the first six months of their lives has gone or how much of a massive change they have made to our lives. But, we wouldn't have it any other way.
