We've got a whole host of teething remedies. Funny shaped dummies, Dentinox, teething rings you put in the fridge - you name it, we're trying it.
However, our latest addition has been Bickie Pegs! Here's a picture of Theo with one. They're probably a bit young for them at the moment but if we can get pictures like this, then great!
Jon and Clair have twin boys called Theo and Charlie! This is their blog from their first scan picture to their latest tantrum...

Twin Turnover
As you may know, Theo has been turning himself over for several weeks now. When laying on his back, he usually twists himself a bit, pushes himself over to the right with his left leg before pulling his right arm out from underneath and he's on his front!
Charlie however has shown no interest in turning over whatsoever. Until now that is!
The first signs of some Charlie movement came yesterday except he's decided that his first turnover will be to the left, not to the right like his brother.
We'll keep an eye on this for a few days - although we're not going to sign them up for the gymnastics just yet...

Excessive dribbling? Chewing of hands? Sucking of fingers? Reddening of the gums?
It can only mean one thing....

Freckle Watch
Here's a post the boys will thank us for when they get older.
When changing Theo's nappy earlier today, we spotted his first freckle! I won't explain the exact location but suffice to say that the nappy covered it up....
Bless...

The Boys First Video
Here's an extra special treat for today. This is the first ever video we took of Theo and Charlie - they are about an hour old here. Look how calm they are - discovering their new world and looking at each other properly for the first time. This is one of the very few times that we've had Charlie on the left and Theo on the right. No idea why we decided to change them around the other way!

Chatty Charlie
Recently, this is the noise that greets us at about 5am in the morning from Charlie. He seems to have a chat with himself for about 10 minutes (Theo is usually fast asleep - normally on his belly - not interested at all), and then drifts back off to sleep.
We captured this during the day, not at 5am - they don't sleep through the night on their playmat you know :-)

Potions, Lotions, Creams and Emolients
We seem to spend half the day at the moment rubbing creams into the boys' skin! They've developed a bit of eczema here and there and Theo has even been diagnosed with impetigo! He's got a really sore bit of skin just below his left cheek - poor sausage!
Our lubrication routine involves:
1 - Rubbing Diprobase cream (an emolient) all over their bodies at each nappy change to lubricate their skin.
2 - Covering any patches of dry skin with Efcortelan cream (a hydrocortisone) twice a day.
3 - Adding Oilatum to their bath every day.
All this adds up to some very soft skinned boys! Although that fact that Oilatum is parafin based means we probably shouldn't smoke around the boys anymore... :-)

Piling on the Pounds
The Health Visitor came to see us again yesterday. Primarily to show us how to do baby massage but we asked her to weigh them whilst she was here to save another traumatic visit to the Health Clinic.
Charlie weighed in at a respectable 16lbs 2oz whilst Theo has shot ahead with a weight of 17lbs on the nose!
Hmm, looks like another step up in nappy size and clothes size is on the cards. We're already starting to put them in 6-9 months baby grows!

Bumbo Boys...
We bought the boys a Bumbo seat each the other day. After a few nervous attempts at sitting upright unattended, they soon got the hang of it. Here's a photo of each of them.
Firstly a rather pensive looking Charlie (above) followed by a more startled looking Theo (below).

Jabber Jabber Jabber
Yes, more jabs today!
These were just boosters to the ones already given previously; namely diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio, Hib, Meningitis C and (deep breath) Pneumococcal infection.
Theo was wide awake and we could see him giving the Nurse the evil eyes - we swear he could tell that something was up. A couple of screams later and all three injections (two in one leg and one in the other) had been administered.
Charlie meanwhile was fast asleep and had to be woken up. Poor thing. He let out his trademark 'squeaky door' cry and a quick daddy cuddle later all was well.
They've been a bit of a handful this afternoon and evening.
After a quick crying respite during bathtime, it took longer than usual to settle them down.
Thankfully, that's the final lot until they're 12 months old.

High Chair Fun!
We got the boy's first high chair delivered today. We've only bought the one for the moment to make sure it's practical. Here's some pics of them having some high chair fun!
