Exterminate, Exterminate!
FYI, Potty training hasn't officially started at Team Burchell yet. Let's call it potty familiarisation. Also, look out for the bit of toilet roll stuck to Theo's foot...
Jon and Clair have twin boys called Theo and Charlie! This is their blog from their first scan picture to their latest tantrum...

Memo, Buzz and now Munsssersinc...
The boys Disney portfolio is increasing. Monsters Inc (or as Charlie prefers to call it, Munsssersinc) is now right up there with Memo (Finding Nemo) and Buzz (erm, Toy Story).
We've tried them with the classics - Snow White etc, but those hand-drawn, non-computer rendered images just ain't cutting the mustard
By the way, it's incredible how basic and dated Toy Story looks compared to some of the more recent Pixar films!

Rugby Tots
First there was Aqua Tots, now there's RUGBY TOTS!
Yes, this Saturday sees the boys first foray into the world of Rugby. It may be a while before we can get them to keep still long enough to form a scrum but we'll give it a go!
Anyway, here's some pictures of the boys in their kit with their (foam) rugby balls....

Pinch Punch, NOT first of the month....
Adding another form of attack to his arsenal, Theo has now decided that in addition to biting, pinching is now acceptable behaviour.
A stream of trips to the naughty corner doesn't seem to be reducing the pinching epidemic and we're at a loss as to what to do next. Also, no one is immune to it although the more familiar he is with the person, the more likely they are to get a passing pinch! Obviously this means that Charlie is number one on the list...
Will he grow out of it? Biting is still an issue and he hasn't grown out of that yet!

Memo and Buzz
Oh dear, Disney. We now fully understand the power you have over our lives. Your characters and colourful stories are so strong, the pull you have on all our youngsters is unchallengeable.
We promise to:
We promise to:
- Always let the boys watch 'Finding Nemo' upon hearing their demands of 'Memo! Memo'
- Always pop the Toy Story DVD into the player upon their shouts of 'Buzz! Buzz!"

New Year in the Woods
We bridged the inevitable lull between Christmas and New Year by spending a week at Center Parcs in Longleat. Despite the cold, frost and sub-zero temperatures, we still thought it would be a good idea to hire a couple of bikes and a trailer for the boys - skis may well have been more appropriate!
Once again, we had a really great time. It was considerably more exhausting than when we went in April - mainly due to the constant on / off of coats, hats and gloves and the fact the boys weigh so much more now than they did 8 months ago, but we still enjoyed ourselves immensely.
We did lots more activities with the boys than before including water / sand / plasticine play and even a teddy bears picnic but still found time to put them in the creche for a few hours and make full use of the spa facilities! The boys also enjoyed their first proper Indian meal in an Indian restaurant!

Let It Snow....
He's Behind You!
We took the boys to see Aladdin at our local theatre on Christmas Eve.
We knew they'd probably be a bit young for it but thought it would be fun anyway. I think the biggest 'star' there was someone who'd managed to last the full 3 minutes on 'Let Me Entertain You' with Brian Conley. Talent indeed....
The boys managed to keep still in their seats for approximately 20 minutes! Despite a couple of 'magic wands' (see pic), other assorted toys, biscuits, drinks etc to distract them it was a fruitless task and after the interval, we found an empty box which gave the boys a bit of space to run around in.

In the end we managed to last the full 2.5 hours (far too long in my opinion regardless of age) but maybe we'll wait a couple more years before we go again. I think everyone else will thank us too!
